Blog Spotlight - Engaging Faces Events & Teambuilding

Time for another edition of Blog Spotlight, where we ask the questions you want to know the answers to!

This week it's the wonderful Emma Hodgson from Engaging Faces Events & Teambuilding.

Company Name: Engaging Faces Events & Teambuilding
Location: Bedfordshire

How did Engaging Faces Events & Teambuilding come about?

After many years of working in the entertainment and events business my partner decided that it was time to try this for ourselves, so we joined forces with Nick bringing industry knowledge, event management experience and contacts together my experience of project management, sales and very much needed organisational skills!

What sets Engaging Faces apart from your competitors?

We believe that it is our personal touch that sets us apart from our competitors. This is our business so we have to make it work, the one thing that we know our competitors don't have is us, our passion, our desire to get things absolutely perfect and our personal touch. We know where to add value to our service and always do wherever we possibly can. We also strive to offer value for money to all our clients, both big or small.

Best thing about the job?

Well there are a few 'best things'. The first is the sense of complete job satisfaction that we get from delivering an event and seeing with our own eyes the delight, gratefulness and relief that a client has at the moment they realise that their event is in safe hands with us. It's quite thrilling to work with a client on an event from the conceptual stage right through to the delivery and this applies to all our events, from small intimate weddings to themed balls for 500 people. Another best thing for us are the little perks that we are offered from time to time, for example overnight stays in spas or attending some of the functions - gives us time to wind down.

Do you have a specialist area?

Nick's background is in acting and stage management so this means that our events quite often have a 'theatrical' element to them, whether it be performers, staging or Comperes. Our other specialist area would be teambuilding - our experienced Event Managers and Instructors recognise that effective teambuilding is essential to assisting companies in developing their business and also to ensure that employees appreciate their own strengths and the strengths of their colleagues.

Who/what are your influences?

We really just aspire to being the very best that we can at what we do and that is what drives us. I wouldn't say that we are particularly influenced by anything, other than our clients. We aim to get an understanding of what they want from an event, and then support them creatively to achieve their ideals.

Where can I find out more about you?

Our website is http://www.engagingfaces.co.uk/ we also have a film of our recent events on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT2LEyqSZDM Or simply give us a call on 0845 226 0081

Roxi's 21st Cupcakes

The very lovely Roxi came straight to Molly's Little Bakery when she decided to have cupcakes at her 21st birthday bash!

She chose a mix of vanilla & chocolate and wasn't keen on pink, so she went for a combination of green & cream and then orange & claret. The majority topped with an edible 21.

We heard the cupcakes went down a storm and they also helped the birthday girl with her rather large hangover the next day! See we can help with all sorts of problems...

Happy 21st Roxi!

Blog Spotlight - Simply Charming Events

Welcome to week two of our Blog Spotlight, the brand new weekly article that introduces our loyal followers and all you newcomers, to wonderful companies!

We had a great response to this idea and we hope you enjoy reading the articles. All feedback is
appreciated & wellcomed.

This week it's Kirsti from Simply Charming Events!

Company Name: Simply Charming Events
Location: Pontypridd, Wales

How did Simply Charming Events come about?

When starting to plan my own wedding I realised how expensive things were just because they had the word wedding in front of them! I was especially shocked at the prices I was being quoted for chair covers and centrepieces. After doing alot of research I found I could cut the costs dramatically for my own wedding and at the same time set up a business to help other brides-to-be.

What sets Simply Charming Events apart from your competitors?

We work from home and clean & iron everything ourselves. By doing this we are not paying rent or paying wages, this way we can keep our costs down for the customer, while still offering quality products. We only do one wedding a week so rest assured that your wedding receives our full attention. We are available any day, any time for any questions and queries our customers may have.

Best thing about the job?

I loved planning my own wedding and now I get to help and be a part of another brides day. No matter how small a job, it's always a great feeling and a privilege to be able to help out and provide for a wedding day in anyway we can.

Do you have a specialist area?

We specialise in chair covers, centrepieces and vase hire at great prices.

Who/what are your influences?

The things that influence our company is ridiculously high prices quoted for weddings in any stage of planning. After my own personal experience it influenced me to make sure everyone is able to have quality products at an acceptable price.

Where can I find out more about Simply Charming Events?

Our website www.simplycharmingevents.co.uk is full of information, we can also be found on Facebook under Simply Charming Events

Wedding Bells

Last weekend saw the nuptials of Tracey & Jonathan, who approached us to provide cupcakes for their big day.

The only requirements Tracey had, were that they had to be pink, she loved the Rose icing design we offered so wanted some of those and that she was keen on having a several different designs.

So we set to work and on the basis that Tracey favoured the simple yet stunning Rose design, we decided to keep the other designs low key but with the wow factor. The bride was lucky enough to have wonderful friends who had pretty much organised the whole day, so they had offered to set the cakes up. Hopefully I'll get sent some photos of the cupcakes in all their glory.

We hope you all had an amazing day Tracey, so glad we could be a little part of it.

Blog Spotlight - The Wedding Community

Welcome to the very first Blog Spotlight, the aim is simple. We want to let you know about other companies that offer great products, whether it's jewellers, wedding suppliers or event management.

We had a great response to this idea and we hope you enjoy reading the articles. All feedback is appreciated and wellcomed.

First up, is the lovely Kim Herbing from The Wedding Community.

Company Name: The Wedding Community
Location: Nationwide, web based

How did The Wedding Community come about?

When we were planning our own wedding, there was not really any one website that we could go to, to plan, find suppliers and get inspiration all in one place. This is why we have launched The Wedding Community.

Planning our own wedding was one of the most exciting things that we have ever done but also on some occasions one of the most stressful. We had bridal party members located across the country and guests coming from all over...if only we had a way of connecting with them through a website so we could organise things together.

What sets The Wedding Community apart from other wedding websites?

We want to make planning your wedding as exciting and stress free as possible. With the help of The Wedding Community, not only will couples be able to use the free planning tools, including creating their own wedding website and using the interactive drag & drop table planner, they will be able to use the social community to connect with their wedding party to help organise their perfect day, find suppliers from our trusted supplier directory, gain inspiration from other members and real wedding stories, and seek advice from some of the wedding industry's leading experts.

Best thing about the job?
We love being in the wedding industry. The best thing about it is meeting so many wonderful suppliers, visiting beautiful venues and helping The Wedding Community members to create the perfect wedding they always dreamt about by using The Wedding Community features.

Do you have a specialist area?

We don't but our experts do! Our experts are at the forefront of all things wedding. Couples can be inspired by articles written by some of the wedding industry's leading experts on subjects like Bridal Wear, Groomswear, Wedding Cakes, Speech Writing, Wedding Photography & Honeymoons.

Where can I find out more about The Wedding Community?

The Wedding Community is completely free to couples planning their wedding. Simply visit http://www.theweddingcommunity.com/

As seen in Wedding Ideas Magazine & Wedding Magazine

The Wedding Community launched a competition on the 1st July 2010 for new members to win a luxury 7 night honeymoon courtesy of Sandals. So what are you waiting for? Sign up today!
